The St. Louis Blues made a pair of significant trades Friday, shipping captain Brayden Schenn to the New York Islanders and defenseman Justin Faulk to the Detroit Red Wings, according to multiple reports.
Schenn waived his no-trade clause to join the Islanders in exchange for a first-round draft pick, a third-round pick, forward Jonathan Drouin and goaltending prospect Marcus Gidlof.
The reported return for Faulk is a first-round pick, a third-rounder and defenseman Justin Holl.
Schenn, a 34-year-old center who won the Stanley Cup with St. Louis in 2019, has 12 goals and 28 points in 61 games this season and 713 points (290 goals, 423 assists) in 1,083 career games with the Blues, Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings.
Faulk, 33, tallied 11 goals and 32 points in 61 games with the Blues to up his career total to 490 points (141 goals, 349 assists) in 1,041 games. St. Louis acquired Faulk in a 2019 trade with the Carolina Hurricanes, his only previous NHL team.
Drouin, 30, has three goals and 21 points in 55 games this season and 395 points (110 goals, 285 assists) over a 662-game career with the Islanders, Colorado Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Holl, a 34-year-old veteran of 396 games with the Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs, has spent the entire season in the American Hockey League.
Gidlof, 20, was a fifth-round pick in 2024 by the Islanders and is currently playing in his native Sweden.
The Blues are the 14th-place team in the Western Conference, while the Islanders and Red Wings occupy Eastern Conference playoff spots.
